Ye Ancient Lore

LobsterClaus is an ancient, mystical figure, half man and half lobster, said to have emerged from the deepest, most mysterious waters off the coast of New Zealand many centuries ago. His origins trace back to the Clausian underwater kingdom, a hidden realm where the magic of dreams and human desires are woven together by the tides. In this realm, LobsterClaus served as the guardian of dreams, tasked with nurturing the hopes and fantasies that floated on the currents of the deep sea.

As centuries passed, LobsterClaus grew curious about the human world, sensing their deep longing for joy, adventure, and connection beyond material things. He watched as people became more obsessed with possessions, forgetting the value of experiences that bring true fulfillment. Wanting to restore the magic of shared moments and real life adventure, LobsterClaus sought a way to bring the joy of experiences, both big and small, back into their lives.

One day, while observing the surface, he discovered a way to bridge the gap between the underwater dream realm and the human world—through the intricate maze of plumbing systems that connect all homes to the sea. The kitchen sink drain became his secret portal, allowing him to visit homes across the world. With this discovery, LobsterClaus made it his mission to share the magic of dreams and adventure with families, reminding them that true happiness lies in experiences, not possessions.

The kitchen sink drain became his secret portal, allowing him to visit homes across the world.

Twice a year, on the days of the summer solstice and Christmas Eve, LobsterClaus rises from the depths on his whimsical quest for butter. But why butter? In LobsterClaus’s underwater realm, butter is far more than a humble kitchen staple—it’s the essence of transformation, warmth, and indulgence. Butter unlocks ancient powers, capable of turning the ordinary into something enchanted. It is the key ingredient in crafting his mystical hot tub, where LobsterClaus dreams up the family’s next great journey.

The Butter Offering

Families, knowing the potential power of this golden treat, leave out a stick of butter the night of his quest, inviting LobsterClaus to transform their everyday world into a realm of dreamy adventures and unforgettable memories. The butter is placed next to an empty bowl, where LobsterClaus will construct is hot tub.

The Hot Tub of Dreams

When LobsterClaus finds the stick of butter, he transforms it into a magical friend. Together, they climb into the bowl, creating a buttery bath where he dreams of far-off places. These dreams manifest into Dream Tokens – mementos of his vacation fantasies, like a small seashell, a miniature Eiffel Tower, or a roller skate, which are left on the kitchen counter.

Dream Tokens

The next morning, the household wakes up eager to discover what magical memento LobsterClaus has left behind. Sometimes, Dream Token’s are enigmatic—like a piece of driftwood or a key—encouraging the people to solve a puzzle. Other times, they may feature a drawing or sculpture of LobsterClaus himself, which may be saved or collected by the family.

Occasionally, LobsterClaus may even tag a specific memento with the name of individuals in the home if his dreams focus on them. Whether it’s a grandparent, a parent, or even a younger adult, LobsterClaus’s personalized Dream Tokens serve as a call to action for that person, urging them to embrace adventure and step outside their comfort zone.

These small momentos serve as gentle reminders that life’s true treasures lie in experiences, not possessions, and inspire the family to come together and plan their next great adventure.
