About Us

Keep it Weird, Y'all.

This whole LobsterClaus thing? Yeah, it started as a family joke nearly 20 years ago. It was just one of those ridiculous characters you make up on a random night to keep things fun. A half-man, half-lobster? Sure, why not. But over the years, that joke turned into something a bit more… legendary. Now, we’re here, as a family, bringing this wonderfully bizarre tradition to life—and honestly, we’ve having an absolute blast doing it.

Look, we’re parents too. We get it. It feels like we’re all on a merry-go-round of endless to-do lists, and the holidays just crank it up a notch. More gifts, more stress, more… stuff. And don’t even get us started on the phones. We’re as guilty as anyone, scrolling through the same old feeds while life happens right in front of us. Meanwhile, we’re surrounded by piles of things we don’t really need. The holidays have become this race to buy, wrap, and unwrap stuff that nobody even remembers a week later. It’s all become noise, and somewhere in there, the magic got lost.

LobsterClaus came to life as a way to ditch the holiday madness and bring back a sense of (weirdness and) adventure. Twice a year, he crawls up from the depths, scuttles out of your kitchen sink, and grabs that butter you left out. Then he leaves behind a Dream Token – a little memento to inspire your next escapade. It’s a nudge to get off the couch, look up from the screens, and go make some memories. Because, really, when was the last time you remembered the gift you got five years ago? Now, think about that unforgettable family road trip, or the time you built sandcastles on the beach until sunset. That’s the good stuff.

That’s why LobsterClaus is so special to us. He’s our reminder to shake things up, take a breather, and focus on what really matters—experiences, laughter, and time with the people we love.

So yeah, LobsterClaus is our family’s little rebellion. We created this tradition as a way to remind ourselves—and hopefully others—that life isn’t about the things we collect; it’s about the moments we create. It’s been an absolute blast for us to bring him to life, and we can’t wait to share that joy, laughter, and yes, a bit of weirdness, with you.

Go ahead. Leave out the butter, let the magic unfold, and see where LobsterClaus takes you. No butter, no dreams…

Preparing for LobsterClaus

The night before LobsterClaus’s visit, families leave out a stick of butter and an empty bowl in the kitchen, knowing this is what LobsterClaus needs to create his magical hot tub.
